      • Appointments are required for Saturday drop-offs.

Upon arrival, stop at the scale and then proceed to the Resource Recovery building to unload your materials. Please note that Solid Waste Agency staff are not authorized to unload items from customer vehicles or trailers; customers are responsible for unloading their own items.

    Latex Paint Disposal:

    Latex paint can be dried out and disposed of in regular garbage. To do this, remove the lid and place the can in a safe, dry, and well-ventilated area until the paint is completely dry. Once dried, the paint can may be placed directly into the regular garbage with the lid off so the garbage hauler can confirm no liquid remains. Cans of latex paint that are ¼ or more filled will need a drying medium added, such as cat litter, oil dry, sawdust, or shredded paper, to aid in the drying process.

    Businesses generating hazardous materials may be eligible for the Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) program, which offers an affordable way for eligible Linn County businesses to properly dispose of hazardous materials. Eligibility requirements include generating less than 220 pounds of hazardous materials per month and storing less than 1,000 pounds of hazardous material at any time. Businesses are required to make an appointment for drop-off.
